Yard Ruler (yardruler.com) is operated by Yard Socket LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to information when you use the site.
Your calculations stay on your device
Every lawn, mulch, lighting, and stake calculation runs locally in your browser. The numbers you type are not uploaded to us. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no forms that send data to us.
No cookies, no third-party requests
Yard Ruler does not set cookies and does not use advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts, images, and scripts are self-hosted on yardruler.com, so loading a page does not contact third-party servers.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically keeps standard server logs when your browser requests a page. These logs typically include your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. They are used for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and keeping the site running, and they are kept only as long as the hosting provider’s normal retention allows. We do not sell this information or use it to build advertising profiles.
Analytics
Yard Ruler does not currently use analytics. If we add privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (such as Umami) in the future, we will update this policy before it is turned on.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to yardsocket.com (a site owned by Yard Socket LLC) and to Buy Me a Coffee. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave Yard Ruler.
Children
Yard Ruler is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA).
Your rights
Depending on where you live in the United States (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to ask us to delete it, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not run accounts, the only information we could hold about you is in server logs or in an email you send us.

To ask a question or make a data request, email hello@yardruler.com. We may need enough detail (such as the date, time, and approximate IP address of a visit) to locate any matching log entries.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above before the change takes effect.
